I originally created this banner for the church I attend, to be used on Mother’s Day as their main welcome media. They didn’t end up using it, but I love how the design turned out.

This style of banner seems to be popular these days, which is where I drew my inspiration. All the elements were hand drawn in Adobe Illustrator, with the layering effect achieved by using the pencil tool to draw over the flower petals to create the gradations in tone. The gold and purple glitter texture accents were achieved using stock texture images to give these elements more depth.

In honour of my own (awesome) mom, I created a couple of coupons for this year’s gift, using simple text embellishments and vector icons:
